All-round security with the Self-Defending Network
At this year's CeBIT, Cisco will showcase the entire spectrum of security products offering security functions for networks and intelligent endpoint protection for servers and PCs. These products work together to create what is now known as a Self-Defending Network. Visitors will see how a network can automatically identify and prevent attacks with the help of the Cisco Traffic Anomaly Detectors and Guards. The Self-Defending Network from Cisco takes a comprehensive approach to securing IT infrastructures. It acts as a multi-layer, integrated defense system and consists of the four following components: endpoint protection, network security, content inspection and secure transmission. Each component and application in the network is protected against current as well as future security threats.
The products on display will also include integrated application-aware firewalls (PIX 7.0), intrusion-prevention systems (IDS 5.0), integrated security functions in routers and switches and the Cisco Security Agent (CSA 4.5) for endpoint protection. In addition, Cisco will present the Network Admission Control solution (NAC 2.0), which is equipped with authentication and authorization mechanisms for the corporate-wide implementation of security guidelines. The company will also show how different company locations and branch offices can be connected via secure IPSec (IPSecurity) and SSL-VPNs (Secure Socket Layer Virtual Private Networks), which can be easily and securely operated from any PC using an integrated SecureDesktop.
