Cisco Systems at CeBIT 2005
Delivering higher capacities with Next-Generation Networks

The presentation of high-end technologies for carriers and Service Providers will focus on the business world's current demand for Next-Generation Networks based on IP/MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) to reduce costs and generate new sales opportunities. Broadband, convergence, managed services and mobility concepts are driving this development. Cisco will feature high-performance platforms, the basis for such services, at this year's show. They will include:
  • Cisco CRS-1, the most powerful carrier routing system in the world, with Cisco IOS XR, its own operating system. This system was developed to accommodate capacities of up to 92 terabit/s
  • Cisco ONS 15454, an Optical Transport Platform
  • Cisco ONS 15300, a Multiservice Provisioning Platform
  • Cisco 10008 and Cisco 7301 Broadband Remote Access Servers (B-RAS) for broadband aggregation
  • SCE 1000 und SCE 2000 Service Control Engines from P-Cube, a company recently acquired by Cisco
With the help of the Cisco aggregation products, Service Providers can considerably reduce their costs for subscriber broadband services and stand out from their competitors at the same time by being able to introduce new, innovative services.
