Mobile into the future
Cisco will demonstrate the Structured Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN) to show companies how they can use all the services they have available in their local networks in wireless networks as well, with Voice-over-Wireless-LAN as just one example. The presentation will also feature the complete SWAN approach with access points, management and security servers, WLAN endpoints and infrastructure components. Cisco will also provide live demonstrations of how to manage its wireless infrastructure with the WLSE (Wireless-LAN Solution Engine). The new dual-band access points in the 1130AG and 1230AG series will also be on display. In addition to the IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards, they support the 802.11i security standard and Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) for secure AES encryption. In the outdoor access segment, Cisco will exhibit its Bridge 1310.
At CeBIT 2005, customers will be able to obtain the latest information on the successfully launched Cisco Compatible-Extensions-Program (CCX), which allows the use of many mobile, IEEE-compatible Wi-Fi devices and endpoints as well as standards and important parts of the Cisco Aironet infrastructure. Exhibits will also include the Cisco 3200 Mobile Access Router (MAR), which provides a secure, permanent connection for vehicles of any type - all seamlessly using different network technologies in combination with applications for voice, data and video. Another live demonstration will feature the RFID Ready Network (Radio Frequency Identification) to show how an RFID reader interacts with the infrastructure and middleware the system is based on.
